My minecraft world that I've spent almost a year on got irreversibly corrupted today. I thought I saved it before but now it's gone for good this time. I can't get it to load no matter what I try and I don't have any back-ups that will load 😔 I think it's time I move on from it and start a new one because I don't think I can keep troubleshooting it and fixing it when I'm pretty sure it has more to do with the modpack I created it in.

I'm more upset about this than I thought I would be if I'm honest. I'm upset at myself for not making more back-ups of it and not taking more screenshots of my builds. I spent so much time on it and I don't have a lot to show for it… These screenshots are from last year and they're pretty much the only ones I have that look decent.

There was a whole factory and harbor area I built for my create contraptions and I made an automated food farm nearby it. I also found a floating island which I made into a little bird sanctuary with ponds that overflowed off the edge into the ocean below it. There's also a bunch of little waypoint and portal shrines I built which were all themed like they were built by a race mysterious inter-dimensional travelers (hmm I wonder who they could be). I didn't take screenshots of those builds so they're just kind of lost to the void at this point.

Right now I'm taking a break and playing a custom Cobblemon + Create modpack that I made right before I found out my world was corrupted. I'll come back and try making a new modded 1.20.1 world to call my home when I'm feeling a bit better. The Cobblemon world is looking pretty interesting so far though. I'm also playing Polished Crystal on my Miyoo Mini too. There's something about playing gen 1 and 2 that's very relaxing for me. I like playing these romhacks of them since they're very self-contained (all version exclusives can be caught in one game and trade evos have alternative requirements to trigger them) and I can realistically 100% them. I almost finished Blue★ too but I lost my saves when I reset my Miyoo a couple days ago so I might just try to do another playthrough and see if I can complete the pokedex.

I've noticed that I tend to gravitate back to pokemon when I'm not doing so well mentally and if I'm honest I'm just kind of hanging in there right now. Summertime sucks for us because I am not built to handle the heat at all and we are starting to hit those mid to high 90 degree days here (with humidity of course so it feels worse). If playing pokemon (or pokemon in minecraft) is what gets me through the summer then it is what it is.
